LAB GROWN DIAMONDS
What are Lab-Grown Diamonds?
- Diamonds that are grown above the ground
- Sustainably grown without depleting the natural resources
- Least environmental impact without ethical concerns
- Controlled cost & excellent quality
How are they made?
- Lab-Grown Diamonds can be made using two methods: High-Pressure High-Temperature (HPHT) and Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD)
- High-Pressure High-Temperature method: replicates the earth’s process of forming natural diamonds
- In HPHT process, natural graphite is placed in large machines that crushes it under extreme temperature & pressure where graphite turns into a diamond
- Chemical Vapor Deposition method: A seed crystal is placed in a small chamber, which is then filled with gases that are heated
- When gases reach the right temperature in the CVD process, layers of carbon begin to form on the seed crystal causing the seed to grow and created a square shaped diamond crystal
Difference between Lab-Grown Diamonds & Natural Diamonds
- All the physical and chemical properties of lab-grown diamonds are exactly the same as natural-grown diamonds
- They are not a simulant, or a replica or fake they are actual diamonds
How can we differentiate between Lab-Grown Diamonds & Natural Diamonds
- A qualified Gemologist and a diamond testing machine cannot distinguish between Natural-Grown and Lab-Grown Diamonds because they are both considered diamonds
- Special machines are used to check the differences between Natural-Grown Diamonds and Lab-Grown Diamonds
- Gemologists identify how much Nitrogen is in diamonds to identify whether they are Natural-Grown Diamonds or Lab-Grown Diamonds
- Natural-Grown Diamonds have small amounts of Nitrogen in them
- However, Lab-Grown Diamonds do not have any amounts of Nitrogen in them
